October 9th & 10th - We were at Peterborough Speedway for the Autumn Colours Classic on the weekend.
The heat racing was to take place on Saturday with the features on Sunday.
Brendan pulled the number 47 for the line up and that had him starting 2nd last in the 4th heat. The first
heat races where delayed due to rain on Saturday and finally, a few hours behind schedule, the heat race began. Brendan
started at the back of the field with only Kyle Donaldson in the 57X behind him. He started making his way through the
field on the outside until coming out of corner 4, the 40 car was drifting up the track and forced Brendan into the outside
wall. This caused some minor damage to the car and slowed him down allowing the 57X car to pass him. He continued
on and finished the heat race in 4th place.
The second set of heat races would be held over until Sunday morning. Between a long rain delay and then
a terrible accident in the Modified race when a car went over the back stretch wall, demolished the car and injured the driver.
JP made a good decision to start racing earlier the next day and call it a night.
In our second heat race, we were to start on the outside pole, outside the 57X. We raced the 57X on the
outside for a bit and then settled in behind him to the end of the race for a 2nd place finish. The 4th place finish
and the 2nd would give us a 12th place qualifying start.
So, in the feature, we would start the race in 12th behind some pretty fast cars. John Gaunt #25 from Barrie
speedway would be the fast qualifier for the day and he drew the number 3 for the invert, giving the pole position to the
#57X and the outside to the #31, Jeff Walt from Sunset. Jeff would be the highest finishing Sunset car. Congratulations.
The race started out bad and we found early that it would be a long race. There was a caution on the first
lap, then another caution on the second lap....and it would continue like that for a large portion of the race. Cars
were wrecking everywhere!
Brendan would find the inside groove in the early stages since the outside was being slowed up. He made
numerous passes once we started some longer green flag runs. The car was fast!
The leader, 57X would find himself sent to the back for spinning the #17 lapped car. The leader of the
race at this point would be the #25 with the #52 of Mark Gordon in 2nd, #57 of Ron Quesnelle in 3rd and us in 4th. However,
on the restart, they left a lapped car between the 25 and the 52. With us on the outside with no one directly in front
of us, we would be able to vault ourselves into the 2nd position by corner 1. The 52 opted to stay in line behind the
lapped car while Brendan drove around the 57, 52 and the lapped car on the restart. Once he saw the 25 restart the race,
he made his move.
So by about lap 18 or so, we found ourselves sitting in the 2nd position behind the 25. We were faster
than Gaunt through the centre of corner 1 and 2. Brendan thought that he would race behind the 25 until closer to the
end of the race before making a move for the lead.
Around lap 30, Brendan went high going down the back straight and into corner three. He slowed drastically
and went right up to the outside wall in corner three. Unfortunately, Brendan had just blown his motor and dumped oil
everywhere on the race track. This was not good for Adams Motorsports, nor for some of the cars behind us that got into
one another causing damage. Ron Quesnelle, #57, received substantial damage and would end his race day as well.
Brendan was very disappointed to have lost the motor, but he was happy that the car was running so well and we
felt that we would have got by Gaunt in the later stages of the race. As it was, we didn't have the opportunity and
Gaunt went on to win the race with Mark Gordon in second.
Congratulations to #7, Tony Tiemersma for an excellent run. He had to come into the pits early to fix some
damage on his car and he went back to the front to finish the race in the 5th position. Congratulations to Tony and
Crew.
In the Late Model race, the cautions were frequent. Eventually they made the decision to start counting
caution laps, up to a maximum of 5, per caution.
On the first lap, Linc Brown would lead the field to the green flag. Unfortunately, the first lap
wouldn't be caution free. The cars got three wide in corner three forcing the #7 of Derrick Tiemersma to the outside
and up the wall. His car climbed the wall with two tires and very quickly ended his day without even a lap completed.
What a disappointment for Derrick and crew.
I thought the challenger race was bad with the number of cautions but the late models were definately not running
well on Sunday night. The #31 of Shaun McWirter would end the race with the victory, with the #84 in second and the
#67 of Steve Tiemersma in 3rd. Great race for the 67 team - Congratulations to Steve and crew.
The late models had lots of cautions, lots of cars hitting others out of anger under caution and one driver stopping
his car on the track to talk with another driver. An interesting night to say the least.
Thankfully the season is now over and we have all winter to decide what to do with the car - sell it as a rolling
chassis or fix the motor and go racing! We haven't decided. Due to two weddings next summer, if Brendan
does race next year, it won't be for points.
September 19, 2004
We were not going to be attending the race today until we found out on Thursday that it was actually
a day race, starting at 2pm and not the original 6pm as shown on the schedule. We were glad that we were able to.
The car was decent in practice today. We went to the drivers meeting and drew the #1 to give
us the pole position in the first heat race. Which would, in turn, start us in the last position in the second heat
race.
So the first heat race we started on the pole with the #52 of Mark Gordon on the outside pole.
We battled with Mark for a couple of laps before pulling ahead to lead the race and finish with another win for the season.
The car was exceptionally tight and when we checked it over between races, we found that the sway bar was tight and we found
a bind in the shock. The crew set about fixing the shock and out we went for the second heat race.
In the second heat race, we started dead last. Truth be told, I, along with Chris and Randy,
missed this race. But, from what the other crew told us, it was a good race and Brendan made some good moves to make
it up to the 3rd finishing position.
The other heats were great races. There were many top cars in these heats and some good battles.
Since we finished the heats with a 1st and a 3rd, we were the fast qualifier for the day and had to
draw for the invert. We drew the number 9 and the top 9 qualifiers were inverted for the start of the race. This
invert put the #7 of Tony Tiemersma on the pole for the start with the #1 of Vic Parsons on the outside pole.
The race ran for many laps under green. There were only a handful of cautions during the race,
however, there were some long ones while they were getting the cars lined up. There were many cars that were down a
lap due to the long green flag run. Our car was a little off. We just missed on the set up.
Caution was brought out when the #29 dove to the low groove coming out of corner 2, causing the #52
of Mark Gordon to get into the back of him and then came the trouble. The 19K (recently purchased by the #61 from the
4 cylinder division) then hit the 52 and we hit the 19K causing him to spin as well. We are not sure what happened with
the #3 of Ken Bemrose - whether he was tagged by the 19K while he was spinning or if Ken spun to avoid the 19K or whatever,
but he went around on the track as well. Thus, the caution came out. A few people seemed to think that the 52
got a bad call when he was sent to the back of the field for causing the contact with the 29 car. I didn't agree with
the call, but to the back Mark went. From there, he showed everyone why he was the champion at both Kawartha and Mosport
this year. (Congratulations Mark!)
During a restart, we lined up in the 5th position on the outside and going through corner 1 we were
beside the 23 of Paul Milligan, however, he went exceptionally high out of corner two and we were heading toward the outside
wall. We backed off and allowed him to get his car back in line so we both wouldn't end up in the wall.
Mark Gordon ended up getting past us on the restart and we were running through corner three, on the
outside of another car, with the #7 on the inside and the #3 on the outside behind us. The 3 car appeared to come down
a bit too soon and connected with the 7 car causing him to spin and bringing out the caution. The #3 car would then
go to the back of the field with very few laps remaining.
The final few laps would see the finish as follows: Vic Parsons, Tom Walters, Paul Milligan,
Ron Quesnelle, Mark Gordon and Brendan Adams.
Our next and final race will be at the Autumn Colours Classic in Peterborough on October 10th and
11th.
September 11, 2004
We couldn't be any happier with the way racing went for our team this evening! We had a great
car and great finishes.
In our first heat race of the evening, we would start in the 4th position and with very little action,
end the race in the 2nd position.
For the second heat race, we started in 8th (or something like that) but it didn't matter where we
started as at the beginning of the race, the 29 car would go exceptionally high through corner 1 and get into the left
side rear tire, spinning us sideways, causing the rim to be bent. Brendan pegged the gas, did a 360 and continued on.
However, they threw the caution flag and the race restarted with the 8 and the 29 at the rear of the field. Not to let
being at the back deter him, Brendan moved through the pack and ended the race in the third position.
In the feature race, we started on the outside in 8th position. The outside lane was the place
to be. With numerous laps of racing on the outside with the #28 of Mike Bentley in front of us, we would pass cars and
move into the top four. Great driving by the #28 car on the outside.
This was our 35 lap end of season championship and the first and ONLY caution was thrown when some
cars running at the back of the pack would get together and spin. As the caution flew, Lambert Yake, #12, would find
himself collected in the accident and he was leading the race at the time. Unfortunately for him, there was damage to
his car and he had to go to the pits to fix this. This gave the lead to the #28 of Mike Bentley and put us in the second
position.
When the laps wound down, Mike Bentley would win the race, with us finishing second. Great job
Mike! Your car was fantastic tonight and we were so happy to see you get this win.
Unfortunately, Mike would find himself in the position that we were in last week and he would be just
low on his ride height and therefore, he would be dropped two positions in the finish, therefore, putting him to 3rd and giving
the win to us. While it is nice to get the feature win, we would have rather seen Mike keep this win.
Going into the feature, we were locked into the 4th place in the points battle as all we had to do
was take the green flag to keep ahead of the car behind us.
For the championship points, the race was exciting in the beginning of the night. With the draw
of the number for the line up for the heat race, the #3 car of Ken Bemrose started on the pole while the #1 of Vic Parsons
would start dead last in the same heat. So with the invert for the second heat race, they would be opposite with Vic
starting on the pole and Ken at the back. They each won a race and Ken finished 4th and Vic 5th in the other heats.
This put Ken 4 points ahead of Vic for the start of the feature. All Ken would have to do to win the championship would
be to finish ahead of Vic, or within three positions outside the top four.
Ken would do more than this. He would start about 14th in the field and come through the pack
to finish the race in 3rd (on the track) but end up in 2nd once Mike was moved back to 3rd. Unfortunately for Vic, he
would be trapped on the inside lane and lose many positions at the beginning of the race before he was able to get out and
around traffic. Ken's bid for the championship was never in jeopardy once the race got underway.
Congratulations to Ken Bemrose and his crew on a well deserved championship.
A great night for Paul Alcock from Aurora Automotive to be on hand. Not only did his motors
finish the feature race in first and second, they also were the motor in the championship car this year! Many thanks
and appreciation to Paul Alcock and Jeff Leonard for putting together such great motors for Adams Motorsports and Bemrose
Racing.
September 5, 2004 - If there was ever any question about who has the fastest car in the Late Model division,
the question should have been answered tonight.
In the first feature race, the rained out feature from last week, we were to start in the 7th postion, but one
car decided to start scratch and another would be on the trailer before the race began, therefore, moving us to a 5th spot
starting position. The car was fast in the beginning of the race. In the early going we moved easily past the
cars on the outside groove and shortly thereafter, made the pass for the lead. We would get a challenge from the #1
car of Vic Parsons from about midpoint on. The car wasn't very good for about the last 8 laps of the race as it felt
like the brakes were seizing up on the car. However, we managed to hold off Vic Parsons and the #3 of Ken Bemrose to
finish the race in 1st.
Unfortunately, we were about 1/8th of an inch low on the rear left side. This is deemed as a minor infraction
and therefore, we were dropped to 3rd in the final standings, giving the feature win to Vic Parsons. Congratulations
to Vic.
We checked the brakes on the car, bled them and they were much better for the rest of the evening.
In the first heat race, we would start on the outside pole and make the pass on the outside on the first lap
and never look back. We pulled out to a straightaway lead and picked up our 12th win of the season. This time
we would pass tech without an issue.
In the second heat race, they inverted the field. We would pass cars on the low and high side and then
eventually moved ourselves into a 4th place finish.
We would finish the heat races with a 1st and a 4th, making us the second fastest qualifier for the evening,
behind the very fast Ken Bemrose who had a 1st and a 3rd. In the invitational races, they line the field up with the
fastest qualifiers at the front. However, they do have the fastest qualifier draw a number between 1 and 12 for the
number of top cars they will invert. Ken drew the number 11 and therefore, he went from starting on the pole, to starting
the race in 11th. Brendan would start this race in 10th postion.
This 50 lap race was a great one to watch. There was alot of passing and very few cautions. I believe
there were only 3 cautions. The #57 of Ron Quesnelle, who qualified 11th overall, would be the lucky car on the invert
and he started on the pole. He would hold the lead for a short while, before getting a challenge from the 16 car.
The 16 would take the lead. Meanwhile, further back in the field, the #3 car would show everyone why he is the current
points leader. His car just seems to be faster and better each week. His car is set up to pass on the outside
better than any other car at the track. Earlier in the evening there was a great side by side battle between Ken and
the #47 of Tom Walters. Which after a number of laps, Ken completed the pass on the outside of Walters.
We had a good run for a number of laps with Tom Walters, eventually taking a position from him. While
Ken was making his way through the field, so was Brendan. After Ken passed the #72 of Ron Tracey, we moved in on Tracey
and after numerous laps, were finally able to make the pass. Tracey is a difficult man to pass! By this time,
the top four had checked out.
Ken Bemrose put on a good show passing the 16 car for the lead and from there, he would not look back.
As I said in the beginning, if there was any question about who the best car at Sunset was before tonight, Ken showed everyone
that he IS the car to beat. Congratulations to Ken Bemrose on a fantastic race this evening and a very well deserved
win.
Brendan would finish the race in the 5th postion in this feature, he would pass tech without any issues.
Congratulations on a job well done crew. Can't ask for much more than a 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th, as well as being the
second fastest qualifier.
The finish of the race would be 3, 57, 16, 1 and 8. Next week is the final points race at Sunset
with the end of year championship race.
August 28, 2004
It was a gloomy day, all day, and truthfully, there was so much to do at home that I was hoping for
a rain out early in the evening. Early in the day, Chris found a problem with one of the shocks and he and Brendan found
the problem that we were having with the brakes. The car handled much better tonight.
Racing began under sporatic light showers. The first heat race was the more difficult of the
two races with only the #57 and #1 missing from a heat full of top runners. In the first heat race, we started
on the pole with the 19K on the outside pole followed by the 50 and 16. We took the lead on the first lap and continued
without a challenge. The caution came out on the final lap when the 95.7 car spun on the front stretch. The race
was restarted with us leading followed by the 19k and the 16. We did half a lap when a caution was brought out for spinning
cars. The checkered flag was thrown at this point giving us our 11th win of the year.
In the second heat race, we started in 10th. The heat race was a bit more difficult with cars
racing side by side and nowhere to go. We ended up finishing the race in 7th position. Ken Bemrose would win this
race picking up his 10th win of the year.
The other heat races had the #93 of Mike Wietzes winning the first one. Congratulations
Mike. The next heat race saw #57 of Ron Quesnelle start on the pole, but lose the postion early to the #1 of Vic
Parsons after he made an inside pass on the #57. They would touch, side to side, but the "Super Quick" Vic
Parsons would go on to win the race.
After a long wait, the rain became harder and at about 9:30pm, the racing was called for the night.
Next week, the late models do not race on Saturday night and Sunday is an invitational race.
However, there will be double features next week. See you next week.
August 21, 2004
In the first heat race, we began at the back in 10th position. Early in the race, the #42 car
left room in the bottom lane with the 87 on the outside. The 19 capitalized on this room on the bottom and went under
both cars. The ran three wide for almost a full lap before the 87 car went spinning in corner 1, bringing out the caution.
The 21 car then spun after the restart, reason unknown, bringing out another caution. On the
restart, we were to line up side by side with the #19k and a great battle for position began with the two cars running door
handle to door handle for numerous laps. The 12 car would go high through the corner and we went underneath him and
had him cleared by the exit of corner 2.
It was a tight race with the 72 car in the closing laps with us on the outside. The racing was
tight and we would end up running out of room out of the corner and hitting the wall. Fortunately it resulted in only
minimal damage. We would finish this heat race in the 4th position.
In the second heat race, we would start on the pole. The car was tight at the beginning of the
race but would come around in the late stages.
On lap 2, we saw the first caution when the 72 and the 42, I assume, got together as they both slowed
on the track. The 72 drove the car from the track but would not return for the remainder of the evening. The 42
was towed from the track.
The 19k was fast and right behind us for the majority of the race until the last two laps when we
pulled out to a slight lead. Great racing with the 19k tonight!
In the feature, we were to start in the 7th position, however, due to the damage from the heat race,
the 72 car would not start the feature and therefore move us up to the 6th starting position.
In the early stages, I am not sure if the 31 was loose or had a problem coming off of corner 2, but
while the pack had not moved a position, the 71 would tap the back end of the 31 which resulted in us getting into the back
of the 71 as well. All cars continued on without incident and we would get underneath the 71 on the inside. The
93, who started 11th, would pull off the track in corner three and bring out the caution. He returned to the track at
the back of the field.
After the restart, running behind us, I am not sure if the 16 was loose out of the corner or if there
was contact with another car, she was running on the outside when the back end of her car hit the wall and then the front
end snapped around and she road the wall down the entire front stretch and stopped in the middle of corner 1 with substantial
damage to her car.
On the restart, the #3 car - who was super fast again tonight and could drive the outside line better
than anyone else on the track, went by us on the outside and dipped in front of us in corner three.
The 3 got underneath the #31 and we followed on his bumper and got underneath the 31 car coming out
of corner 2. Upon entry to corner three, our nose cone was half way up the door on the 31 car but when he started to
come down to the lower lane to claim the inside lane, Brendan stood on the brakes hard and backed right off, however, the
31 car clipped the front end, almost had the car saved but unfortunately spun out. We were deemed an involved car and sent
to the back.
After the restart, there was contact between the 59 and the 21 out of corner two and the 59 would
get out of shape. He collected the car and upon entry to corner 3, the 59, 31 and 21 were three wide. The
31 car climbed the 21 car in the centre of the corner and the cars, including the 59, spun. As we were following these
three cars, we went high, but the cars went up the race track and Brendan was unable to avoid the three spinning cars.
The 31 and 21 left the track and would not return.
On the restart, we would start on the outside of the 33 car and in corner three, not sure what happened
with the 33, but he ended up driving toward the wall and not making the turn in three, hitting the side of our car and spinning
us out before coming to a rest up near the wall in corner 3.
After the final restart, we would pass a few more cars on the outside and end up having a great last
lap battle with the #87 car for the finish. I believe we ended the race in 12 position. Vic Parsons would win
the race from his 3rd starting position and congratulations to Mike Bentley on another top ten finish.

July 24th
It was a nice night for racing tonight. Sunset had their fan appreciation night this evening
and all the cars and drivers were on the track prior to the beginning of racing tonight. It was nice to have the fans
come out to see the cars.
In our first heat race of the evening, we started in the 8th position and made our way up to 5th,
however, we weren't able to get any further than this as the #12 of Lambert Yake was not able to get his car around the car
inside of him until the end of the race and with two wide racing in front of us, there was no where to go. So, we will
happily take the 5th place finish. After the race, we were a little alarmed to find a pool of water under the car.
Upon further inspection, we tightened a hose and this solved the issue with the water. Thankfully, it was something
small.
In the second heat race, we started in the 4th position, with #3 of Ken Bemrose on the pole and the
#22 of Chris Morrow on the outside pole. On the first lap, we were able to pass the #33 car on the outside, get in front
of him and then make the pass on the #22 on the inside therefore putting us in the second position. We would finish
the race here, and again, be happy with the finish.
The feature race tonight was something else! The line up tonight didn't seem right at all -
from what I thought, the #3 of Ken Bemrose should have been starting further to the front than he did. But, I haven't
looked at the finishes for the past four nights to see if maybe I was just wrong. Regardless, we started the feature
in 4th place behind some fast cars - #16, Amanda Connolly on the pole, the #19k of Keith McLeod on the ouside pole, #50 of
Ron Lethbridge in 3rd and then ourselves in 4th.
The racing was interesting to say the least. The #21 car brought out the first caution of the
evening on lap one, therefore, setting up for a complete restart. We remained in fourth for a number of laps when a
caution was brought out a bit later when the #3 car was spun by the #1 of Vic Parsons in the middle of corner 3. With
a bad call, the #71 of Brent Travis who was on the outside of us going into the corner, was sent to the rear of the field
for spinning the #3. I heard that the #71 fell back slightly in the corner and was outside of the #3 and there was some
contact, however, my opinion is that the majority of the hit came from the #1 and the #71 took the call. Bad
call - but I guess that's just my opinion. THIS IS NOT TO SAY THAT THE #1 OF VIC PARSONS SPUN THE #3 OF KEN BEMROSE
INTENTIONALLY. CARS GET INTO THE BACK OF ONE ANOTHER OFTEN. IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT IS INTENTIONAL. IT'S
CALLED RACING. I APOLOGIZE TO VIC PARSONS IF HE BELIEVED I WAS SUGGESTING HE SPUN OUT THE 3 CAR ON PURPOSE. MY
POINT WAS NOT TO SUGGEST THAT, IT WAS TO SUGGEST THAT THERE WAS A BAD CALL.
We ran in fourth and had a great battle with the #57 of Ron Quesnelle and he eventually was given
the position while we were racing side by side when the next caution came out. He earned the position with some good
racing by both drivers. So this drops us back to the 5th position, on the outside, for the restart.
The next caution would fly when the #57 made it three wide in the corner when he dove under the #50
and the #19k. They entered corner 1 three wide (57 in the inside, 50 in the middle and 19k on the outside) and you know
that three wide just doesn't work - especially when no one gives. Well, the 50 and the 19k would get together naturally
and they drove through the corner together and it wasn't happy. The #50 would have some damage and have to retire to
the pits, the 19k eventually followed as well. (Rumour has it that the #50 of Ron Lethbridge has been suspended from
the track, length of time unknown)
On this restart, we would not have a good call in our favour. We were ahead of the #1 on the
previous lap, but he was given the position ahead of us - for reasons unknown. But again, that's racing.
There should have been a debris caution when a part of the nose cone from someones car was in the
middle of the track coming out of corner two. But a caution was not thrown and the unlucky person to pick up the nose
cone would be Brent Travis.
We settled in to our 4th position and there we would remain until the end of the race. We are
exceptionally happy with the evening.
Over all, the racing was not great tonight. Ken Bemrose showed some good driving to come from
the back after being spun out early in the race and he finished in the 8th position. Ron Quesnelle gave chase to Amanda
Connolly and he caught her but was unable to get by her in the closing laps. Amanda would go on to win the feature race
from the pole, giving her a hat trick for the evening as she won both her heat races as well. Congratulations to Amanda
and her crew!
The top five in the point standings were called to tech tonight as it was the mid-season championship.
They checked our ride height, weights, carb, clutch and flywheel. All cars passed inspection in the Late Model division.

It was another great night of racing for Adams Motorsports and we are happy with the outcome.
The car was handling better this week and the new motor from Aurora Automotive was running quick.
First off, it is nice to see that since some people were not happy with the way the percentages were
being done, Glenn Lloyd is interested in keeping his drivers happy and he put it to a vote tonight. The drivers had
an option of keeping the percentages as is, based on the past three features, or changing it to be based on the past five
features. Next week we will find out how the vote turned out. Good job Glenn. It is nice to know that there
is a promotor that listens to the wants and needs of his drivers.
In the first heat, we were to start last, however, the #23 missed the drivers meeting and had to start
scratch in the heat races and for unknown reasons, the #71 opted to start scratch. We made some good moves and moved
up the the 3rd position by mid way through the race, where we would finish the race.
In the second heat race, with the invert, we started on the pole position and went on to win the race
with no real fight from the #3 who finished in 2nd.
In the feature race, we started in the 7th position. The #23 didn't make it through the pace
laps and had to pull off before the drop of the green flag, therefore, moving the entire outside lane up one position.
The inside lane was not moving forward in the beginning of the race and we ended up backing up to
about 11th position. We eventually were able to get to the outside and started our progress through the field.
The #50 and the #19k battled for a number of laps side by side with us directly behind them trying
to determine which one would be the faster lane. We fell in behind the #50 eventually and were able to get by the 19K
and then went on to pass the #50. Shortly after we got by them, the #50 and the #19k would get together and bring out
the caution on the final lap. The race ended under caution/checkered.
The #16 would continue with further problems again tonight when her steering box broke. The
number #3 of Ken Bemrose went on to win the feature race from the outside pole position. Congratulations.

In the first heat race, we started on the pole and pulled out to an early 1/2 straight lead.
With two laps to go, a car spun and caution was thrown. The field restarted with 2 laps remaining with Vic Parsons lining
up in second. We easily pulled away and went on to win the race.
In the second heat race, we started last and worked our way up through the field. We ended the
race in 6th position.
In the feature race, we started in the 7th position. The inside groove was fast and we were
making our way past the outside lane. The #23 car, who started on the outside pole, was falling backward on the outside.
The outside groove was not good for most cars last night and he was looking to fall into the inside lane. On the front
stretch, we were on the inside lane with the 23 on the outside. At the start/finish line, the 23 came down to claim
the inside lane but unfortunately, our car was already there. The cars hit, Brendan braked hard to avoid the 23 but
contact was made and the 23 spun to the infield. On the restart, we were in 5th position on the outside. We attempted
to get by the #87 of Grant Lloyd, however, we just weren't working on the outside at all tonight and couldn't complete the
pass. While running outside of the 87 car, coming out of corner 2, the 87 left an opening on the bottom and the
57 moved to the inside making us three wide and therefore, leaving Brendan no option but to back out of it. We
were trained and fell back to approximately 10th position before being able to fall in line on the inside. As we were
making the pass on the outside of the #50 car of Ron Lethbridge, we got in front of him going into corner 3 when the cars
ahead slowed, for unknown reasons, forcing the #1 car to do the same, however, we weren't able to brake in time and hit the
#1 car. Brendan braked hard again in order to allow the #1 to collect the car, however, I believe he broke something
and wasn't able to save the car. He didn't return to the race. However, it was our fault and to the back
we went. Brendan again drove the car through much traffic and ended up finishing the race in the 12th postion.
Not to terrible considering the events of the night to finish 12th in a 23 car field.
The battle up front was a good one. The 19k and the 16 checked out on the field but 3rd through
5th was a good battle to watch. The #26 of Dave McLean was fast. With the #57 of Ron Quesnelle behind him.
Quesnelle attempted to make the pass on the inside, on the outside, over numerous laps, but he didn't appear to be able to
make it work tonight on the outside either. The 26 car hung tight and was making Quesnelle work for the pass.
When out of no where came the #3 car of Ken Bemrose. Now, Ken was able to make his car work on the outside tonight and
he flew past both of them, claiming two positions moving himself up to the 3rd finishing position.

From the onset of the night, it wasn't a great night of racing. Practice started late due to
the weather. In practice, the car was horrible. The brakes were hanging up and this caused some major
issues with the car. The crew brought the car in and made some adjustments.
In the first heat race, we started in 6th position on the outside. Shortly into the race,
another car would go high in the corner, taking us extremely high up the race track with them. We were, of course, trained
by the other cars while this was happening. We moved up a bit back to our original 6th starting position and there
we would finish. The brakes on the car were still an issue that was causing problems. We brought the car in after
the heat race, made some adjustments to the brakes and bled them.
In the second heat race we would start in the 5th postion. The inside lane was not moving at
all and we were waiting for an opening to get to the outside. When the outside opened up, we went up, but the outside
wasn't moving either so eventually we would tuck back down to the inside. We moved up just one position in this heat
race to end in 4th. (Actually, it may have been 5th - have to wait for the results to confirm this) The car still had
some brake issues and wasn't handling great.
It was definately a full moon tonight as the Thunder cars took about an hour to run their mid season
championship race. Some tempers were definately flaring in the pits this evening again as it seemed that people were
mad at people everywhere, from thunder cars to late models.
In the heat race, we would line up in the 8th starting position. Mike Bentley, #28, would
start on the pole tonight. For the first number of laps, it was two wide racing throughout the field as no one
was making any ground on anyone. Eventually, after a number of cautions, we would line up in the 7th position on
the outside behind the #16 of Amanda Connolly. Amanda quickly went on to pass a few cars and put herself in the
2nd position. We were on the outside of Bemrose but couldn't get the pass done and fell in behind him in the fourth
position. Amanda would get by the #28 in the later stages of the race and pick up the #1 position. Shortly thereafter,
the #3 would get underneath the #28 and move in to the 2nd position. We would have liked to follow the #3 underneath
the #28 but we just didn't have the car. We were way too loose and were unable to keep the car on the bottom of
the race track. The brakes were better in the feature, but still not great. We would finish the feature
race in the 4th position. The brakes will have to be fixed this week as the rotor is warped. I think some
new tires would be in order since the ones on the car are about used up and I am pretty sure they are not helping
with the handling of the car.
Congratulations to Mike Bentley as he ran an excellent race tonight to finish in the 3rd position.
Unfortunately, his car was a fraction too low and he would be docked two finishing positions in the feature race
for this infraction. Regardless Mike, you had a fantastic run and we are very happy to see you running so
well these past few weeks. Congratulations to you and your crew.
Unfortunately for Mike, he would finish 5th instead of 3rd, but of course, this would give the 3rd
finishing place to us.
Congratulations again to Amanda Connolly on another feature win.
